DISAPPOINTING PRODUCTS :(

Tuesday, 23 April 2013

Hi everyone! Today I'm going to show you some products that were a completely disappointment or they just did not work for me. I hope this post can help you!

Here there's a list of my disappointed products I've used recently:

  • Kerastase Cristalliste Bain Cristal. I was really exited to try this new shampoo form Kerastase. Apparently, the Cristalliste range is designed for women with long hair and it's supposed to give an airy and shiny feel; but the results I've got were not really good. I felt my hair like more thin that usual and also flat and this wasn't good so I stopped to use this after a couple of times.
  • Mac Eyeshadow in Shale. The color is really beautiful, mauve purple with subtle shimmer, but the pigmentation is so so poor! It's really difficult get the color on the lid. Really disappointing!
  • Revlon Lip Butter. I needed to try these specially because all the hype the product was getting but wow such a disappointment! They are not moisturizing and don't last on the lips at all.
  • Maybelline The Falsies Mascara. Another product with a big hype. It is a good product if you want to get big lashes, definition and some volume BUT it clumps a bit and my big disappointment comes when you need to take it off, it so hard to remove and I always end up with little black pieces all over my eyes and face...
  • Murad Clarifyng Cleanser. I've got this cleanser when I was having the worst acne breakouts ever but this did not help me on that. I have quite sensitive skin and this just made my skin break out even more, also it is extremely drying!
  • Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation. This foundation is very lightweight formula, doesn't cover imperfections, feels a bit oily, doesn't last on the skin and I find it difficult to blend.
  • Benefit Georgia Blush. This is a pale warm-toned peachy blush although it can be used as illuminating powder as well. It looked really nice on the pan but does not show up on my skin and I'm very fair! I used this a couple of times as illuminating power but it didn't give a nice glow either This product has been discontinued.

Lots of love.

NUDE NAIL POLISHES

Thursday, 4 April 2013

Nude nails is always a good idea, it's always a safe bet! For this reason, I've made a little collection of this nail color, here are 4 of my favorites:

  • OPI "You don't know Jaques" such a classic shade from OPI. This is described as a taupe color, something between grey and brown; some people would described it like a muddy color, pretty shade though, it goes with everything and I always get compliments when I wear this one. Also the OPI formula is really good, long lasting and smooth application.

  • Kiko nail lacquer n° 320. Really pretty taupe color from Kiko Cosmetics, but in this case it has purple undertones, the color is more between grey and purple. Kiko nail polishes are very inexpensive and there is a huge selection of colors however the quality isn't really great but is in a average for a non-expensive polish, the brush is quite small and it last around 3 days without chipping.

  • Essie "Chinchilly" I love Essie nail polishes, I would say it's my favorite brand of nail care and this shade was my latest acquisition. Chinchilly is a light grey with a subtle lavender undertone; it's quite similar to Kiko 320 nail lacquer but the Essie one is more grey. Perfect formula, applies like butter and has a fantastic shiny result.

  • Mavala nail polish in Velvet. This color is quite difficult to describe, I would say is a pink-beige color. I think is not the most flattering color for my skin tone, actually I've got a love-hate for this shade, but I have to admit it is a pretty neutral color for everyday looks.

Which are your favorites neutral-nude nail polishes?
