TOP 5 OF THE MONTH - APRIL 2014

Tuesday, 29 April 2014

April is almost over so it's time for another favourites post. Today I want to show you the 5 products that I've been loving the most during this month.

Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening TonerEveryone seems to love this product and I definitely can see why. This lotion contains tamarind fruit and white nettle extract that helps to brighten, smooth and soften your skin. I use this twice a week at night time and you can see the results the next morning, brighter skin and more even texture and tone.

Essence Quick&Easy Sponge Nail Polish Remover. Essence came out recently with this sponge nail polish remover. It's so comfortable and handy to use and is also acetone-free which makes the formula more gentle with the nails.

The Body Shop Seaweed Deep Cleaning Facial Wash. It's incredible that I haven't mention this on a favourites post before. This is my third bottle! I love this facial wash. It removes the make up so easily and it's really gentle with the skin. Highly recommend it!

Lush Big Shampoo. I already spoke about this here and how much I love this shampoo. This is a sea salt and clarifying shampoo which is really great for a deep cleansing. The hair comes out super shiny, clean and with volume.

Kiko Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow in no5 Rosy Brown. This is a very unique colour, a kind of bronze with a pink undertone, which looks really pretty on the eyelids. These stick eyeshadows are very easy to use and provide a smooth and creamy application. I did a whole post talking about this product here.

What are your favourites of the month?

SPRING NAILS: BABY BLUE

Thursday, 24 April 2014

How pretty this nail polish looks? Pastel blue or baby blue is a trend colour for this Springtime and lots of brands are coming out with their version of the colour. Pastels nails are one of my favourite nail trend, they look so clean and lovely, making your hands look so polished. I picked this L'Oreal Color Riche nail lacquer, from Les Blancs Collection, called Ocean Porcelaine

This nail polish is a white-based colour with a lovely pale blue colour. The formula of these is pretty good. It gives a lovely and shiny finish with simple one stroke.

Have you got your baby blue nail polish for this season?

Have a lovely day everyone!

ESSENCE COOKIES & CREAM SHIMMER PEARLS

Tuesday, 22 April 2014

I just couldn't leave this pretty little thing at the store. These shimmer pearls in the shade 01 one sweet day are part of a Limited Edition Collection from Essence called Cookies & Cream.

I'm really impressed with this highlighter. The colour is a champagne shade which looks really beautiful on the cheeks leaving a nice subtle finish, nothing to strong or evident, which makes this perfect for daytime. The texture is soft and the shimmer is finely milled. It also have a nice scent, a sweet and cookies fragrance.

This is a lovely everyday highlighter that is definitely worth the try if you have the chance since this is limited edition. The price is just 4 euros!

Have a lovely day everyone!

WHAT TO PACK FOR A WEEKEND TRIP

Wednesday, 16 April 2014

I'm going to London and I'm trying to decide what make up products I'm bringing with me. Usually I carry so much make up even for a couple of days. But this time the idea of buying a lot of stuff there and all these liquids rules at the airport force me to keep it light!  Packing for a weekend away is definitely not so easy!
Here there are the only 7 products I'm packing in my make up bag for the weekend.

1. Foundation. Choose your favourite one! Or a foundation that will give you a natural and perfect look and that will last all the day on. Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua is the one for me.

2. Multitasking Concealer. Usually I carry 2 different concealers. But this time I chose this one, the Maybelline Fit me, because it goes perfect for the under eye area and for blemishes. Even I use it for illuminate some parts like brow bone or down the nose.

3. Versatile Eye shadow palette. There is not  more versatile palette than the Naked Basics. Everything you need is on this palette.  Perfect for travelling. I use the eye shadow Venus as highlighter and Naked 2 or Faint for my brows.

4. Neutral Blush. A rosy-brown blush like this one from Burberry in Earthy is perfect for a natural touch on the cheeks. This is also perfect for contouring, it gives a very natural shadow to your cheeks.

5. Nude Eye Liner. Perfect for an instant brighter eyes. The Rimmel ScaldalEyes eye pencil is so long lasting!

6. Mascara. We cannot skip this step, of course! bring your favourite mascara. This time I'm bringing the L'Oreal False Lash Effect Telescopic in brown.

7. Lip Balm with colour. Choose a moisturising lip balm to keep your lips well hydrated. The Dior Lip Glow is really moisturising and it gives the most perfect pink colour to your lips, and this last on for long.

Have a great day everyone!

DRUGSTORE CONCEALER: BEST & WORST

Monday, 14 April 2014

Today I wanted to show you a review and comparison of 5 of the most popular drugstore/high-street concealers. Let's get started!

The bad highlighter concealer.

Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch. This has a low-light coverage. I find it not good for highlighting under the eyes. The formula is quite matte in comparison with other highlighters and it creases under the eyes. The palest color (Ivory) it´s definitely too dark if you have pale-fair skin. This is an average product and I would not recommend it.

The good highlighter concealer.

L'Oreal Lumi Magique Touch of Light. This is a must have. It has a light coverage but it works perfectly as an instant under eye brightener. The formula is really nice, smooth, easy to blend and gives a lovely and subtle highlighting.

The average concealer.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer. The consistency of this is quite light and the coverage is medium. I find the formula a little drying and gets into my fine lines. The sponge applicator is not really hygienic and a bit messy. I also dislike the colour range, the lightest shade is too dark.

The good concealer.

Maybelline Fit me Concealer. This has a pretty good coverage but not as good as the Collection concealer. The consistency is very creamy and it blends well. It also works well as a natural highlighter.

The super concealer.

Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. This works really well under the eyes and provides great coverage. It also covers blemishes well and last all day. The formula of this concealer is thick and pigmented but blendable. It also works as an amazing under eye highlighter when you choose a shade slightly lighter.

EDIT: I'VE UPDATED THIS POST RECENTLY, YOU CAN FIND HERE :)

Have you tried any of these concealers? What's your favourite drugstore concealer?

Have a lovely day!

A FEW THINGS FROM LUSH

Friday, 11 April 2014

I picked up a few things from Lush recently and I thought I'd share with you what I bought. Here are my new lush goodies:

Big Shampoo. I'm really impressed with this shampoo. This is a sea salt and clarifying shampoo so I tend to use it once a week for a deep cleansing to remove any buildup. My hair comes out super shiny, clean and with volume. Smells incredible, so fresh and clean.
It feels really weird when you use this at first, because of the rock salt, but after it is so nice on the hair. Also just a little amount is more than enough because it foams so much. This product is also good for those who suffer with psoriasis on his head. This reduce the flaking and itching and help to get rid of it.

Phoenix Raising Bath Bomb. Actually I haven't use this yet but this bath bomb looks so nice and I can't wait to try it. This has cinnamon scent and contains cocoa and shea butter. This claims to lift your mood when your are down! Have your tried this?

Karma Bubble Bar. I love Lush Bubble Bars and I adore the Karma scent from Lush products! I'm even thinking of buying the Karma perfume! It smells refreshing, exotic, citric and patchouli. This bubble bars makes loads of bubbles!

I've received two samples with this purchase. The Fresh Farmacy Cleanser which I've already tried, it really gentle and it's suitable for sensitive skin but it dries out my skin. I also received the Aromaco Solid Deodorant. I haven't tried this yet but I read very good reviews about it. This is suitable for sensitive and irritated skin so it's perfect to use after shaving your underarms.

Have your tried any of these products?

Have a nice day and weekend!

BEST BUDGET PRODUCT #7: KIKO LONG LASTING STICK EYESHADOW

Wednesday, 9 April 2014

I really like these Eyeshadows Sticks from Kiko. They are really long lasting, water resistant, they have a pretty and sleek packaging and a wide range of shades. Also they're very affordable, 6.90 £/€.

All of the stick eyeshadows are very easy to use and provide a smooth and creamy application on the eyes. The products itself is very creamy and it glides on your eyelids smoothly. It's easy to blend or smudge. They're also buildable and they work better if you use your fingers to apply the product.

They are definitely long lasting and don't crease easily. Once they have dried down, they don't smudge and will stay on all the day. Also I find they are really water resistant as it was pretty difficult to remove the eyeshadow at the end of the day.

I got two shades so far, the no5 Rosy Brown and the shade no7 Golden Beige. The first one is a very unique colour, a bronze colour with a pink undertone, so pretty! Ps. This is a really good dupe for the By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Misty Rock, they are really similar. The other colour is lovely champagne-light golden colour witch is perfect as inner corner highlight.

Have you tried these eyeshadow sticks?

Have a lovely day!

NAILS OF THE DAY: RIMMEL 60 SECONDS-405 ROSE LIBERTINE

Monday, 7 April 2014

I got this nail polish a while ago but today I realised how incredible beautiful and unique this colour is. This is such a pretty shade that deserves a whole post for itself.

Rose Libertine is a muted rose colour with a hint of coral I would say. But the colour looks so feminine and classy on the nails that make your manicure and hands look so polished.

The formula of these nail polishes is fantastic. The nail polish has a flat and wide brush which makes it easier and faster to apply the colour. The colour itself comes out really well and you only need to apply one coat. The best thing is that this really does dry quickly. Also it last for long on the nails.

I will definitely pick more shades from this nail varnish range!

Have your tried this colour or others from the Rimmel 60 seconds range?

Have a nice day!

TOP 5 MAC EYESHADOWS

Friday, 4 April 2014

MAC eyeshadows are kind of a cult product in Beauty. They have a very good quality, a vast colour range and a variety of finishes.

Today I thought I'd show you my favourites Mac Eyeshadows. These are neutral  and versatile colours and flattering shades which look good on everyone. This is my selection:

Woodwinked. Is a medium gold-bronze colour with warm undertone. It does have a orange/red undertone once applied so I would say this looks better on darker complexions. The finish is Veluxe Pearl, It has some shimmer on it but is finely milled. The texture is so soft and buttery. Also the pigmentation and colour payoff are really good.

Patina. This has been my first MAC eyeshadow ever. It's a very interesting and unique eyeshadow. Patina is a taupe brown with golden shimmer. The pigmentation is medium but buildable. This looks gorgeous as a wash all over the lids.

Naked Lunch. I love this eyeshadow so much! Just a swipe of Naked Lunch all over the lids and instantly get a perfect polished look.  This is a warm champagne peachy pink with a frost finish but it just add the right amount of shimmer to the lids. This is a must in your collection!

Shale. This is also a unique and special colour, a kind of ashy purple colour with some silver shimmer. It's a great neutral alternative to brown. The only negative thing is that this is not really pigmented.

Satin Taupe. This is a classic and a best-seller of the brand! And I can understand why. It is a brownish taupe colour with some silver shimmer on it. And because it's not too warm or cool it suits many skin tones. It's very wearable and versatile. It also have an excellent colour payoff. Definitely worth the hype!

What's your favourite MAC eyeshadow?

Have a lovely day and weekend!

WELCOME APRIL

Wednesday, 2 April 2014

I love April for so many reasons. The weather start to get warmer,  the sunny days, colour everywhere, cute outfits, berries, it's my birth month and it's my boyfriend's birth month as well. In fact I have lots of friends' birthdays and family birthdays this month so this means lots of celebrations and happiness in general!

Since I have all these special occasions I'm doing some research for inspiration and ideas. I want some new clothes addition specially in some pretty colours like the ones in the picture (all clothes are from Topshop) and also cute accessories like a mint green statement necklace or some pastel colour sunglasses.

I'm so into pastels! I love this gorgeous baby blue nail polish from Barry M. Also I can't wait to try these YSL Baby Doll Kiss & Blush stains, how pretty they look?

I also want to prepare some yummy snacks and drinks for  birthday parties. I really want to prepare these strawberries covered with chocolate, yum! and some cute drinks with sparking wine and berries.

I'm so exited for this month! April, please, be amazing!

Have a nice day and a good April! :)
