Wednesday, 31 December 2014

Hope you all have a fantastic night and a happy 2015!

It's incredible how fast this year has gone!  What are your plans for this NYE? I hope you all have a lovely night tonight!

The makeup menu for tonight include some golden eyeshadows, Half Baked from the Naked Palette by Urban Decay is perfect for a party look, and red nails and lips, with this Essie nail polish in A list, and a note of colour in the lips with Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl. For foundation, my trusty Dior Forever, a strong base with a good coverage that will stay perfect all night long. I like to mix it with a few drops of Nars Illuminator in Copacabana for a more glowy finish. I'll finish the look with a touch of a neutral soft blush like Nars Douceur over the cheeks.

Whatever your plans are for today, I hope you have an amazing day! Have fun and happy New Year!

Top five of the month: December 2014

Monday, 29 December 2014

It's time for the last monthly favourites of the year!

Dior Skin BB Cream. This is light weight but with a good coverage, it's hydrating and stays on all day. The coverage is medium and leaves the skin with a dewy, flawless finish.

Balm Balm Rose Geranium Lip Balm. This is a multi-purpose 100% organic balm which can be used for  lips, cuticles, dry patches, eyebrows, etc.

Revlon Lip Butter in Raspberry Pie. This is a gorgeous medium raspberry colour. It's very pigmented and gives a natural glossy finish. The formula of these is creamy, smooth and hydrating.

The Body Shop Vanilla Brulee Hand Cream.  Vanilla Brulee is one of the new Christmas scents and smells amazing! Warm vanilla, caramel, and a hint of spice! It's really sweet but not heavy at all. I'm really impressed with the formula of these hand creams. It's so moisturising, quick soaking and doesn't leave hands feeling greasy at all.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. I've been using a lot this palette during this month. All the colours are beautiful and exactly my type of shades, hues of pink and brown. I've been using specially the shadows Burnout, a light pinky-peach shade and Trick which is a metallic rose gold-copper shade.

Let me know what you've been loving this month too!

What's in my makeup bag: Christmas Edition

Monday, 22 December 2014

This is what I'll be taking with me these holidays.

The Hydrating Base/ Foundation
Dior Skin BB Cream is hydrating, light to medium coverage, blends easily and is so comfortable to wear. Leaves a flawless finish and lasts the whole day.

The Highlighter
I like to mix a tiny bit of  Nars Illuminator in Copacabana with my foundation to add a subtle light to the face, this gives such a pretty glow, perfect for a party look.

The Concealers
I love the Fit Me concealer by Maybelline because it has a creamy consistency, a good coverage and it works great for covering blemishes and dark circles as well. I like to pair it with the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Touch of Light for my under eye,  it works perfectly as an instant brightener.

The Eye Brow Product
I've recently started using the Anastasia Brow Wiz in Caramel, and I love it!  It's goes on with such precision and the spooly brush at the end is so nice and firm.

The Mascara
Catrice Glamour Doll Volume&Curl Mascara separates each lash and gives them length and a bit of curl.

The Eye Liners
Rimmel ScandalEyes Khol Kajal in Nude and Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On in Roach. A nude eyeliner and a brown (or black if you prefer) is all what you need.

The Eye Shadows
This mini  MAC palette contains my favourite eyeshadows: Naked Lunch, All that Glitters, Shale and Antiqued.

The Blush
I went for Nars Douceur which is a lovely neutral cheek colour that it goes with every makeup look.

The Lip Products
I adore Dior Lip Glow for the day time, it's moisturising and gives a lovely pink colour. For night time and Christmas parties looks I'm bringing this Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl, a gorgeous deep pinky-red lipstick that it's so easy to apply and last for hours on.

xx

The Winter Nail Polish: Chanel Rouge Noir

Friday, 19 December 2014

If you only own one Chanel nail polish, it needs to be Rouge Noir.

This is one of my all time favourites nail polishes. I know, Chanel nail lacquers aren't the greatest, they chip very easily which is such a shame, definitely not what you'd expect from such a quality brand. You can find lots of dupes for this shade, cheaper and with better quality out there.
But every single autumn/winter I come back to this nail polish. I absolutely adore the colour of it, it's an absolute classic, so chic and timeless and it goes with absolutely everything. It layers on so well, the application is even and the finish is very glossy. This lasts two/ three days on me. So beautiful!

Five Affordable Winter Saviours

Tuesday, 16 December 2014

The cold weather,  freezing temperatures, humidity...can dry out the skin and it can also affect to our hair condition.
Here are five great and affordable skin & hair winter saviours.

Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate is a quite dense oil but three drops is all you need,  sinks in immediately and leave the skin soft. It´s great for dry patches, scars, red marks and for healing a blemish fast. It is also really moisturising perfect to boost your skin’s moisture .

Caudalie Beauty Elixir is one of my skincare essentials. This mist contains essential oils and feels cooling and fresh on the skin leaving your skin hydrated. I use this as a toner,  I like the way my skin feels afterwards: soft and moisturized.

Ziaja Sensitive Firming Night Cream. Ziaja skincare is very inexpensive and they have really good products. I've been loving this moisturiser designed for sensitive skin. This is gentle on the skin with a creamy  nice consistency , spreads well and sinks quickly into the skin. It also reduces redness and dryness and prevents premature skin ageing.

Balm Balm Rose Geranium Lip Balm. This is actually a multi-purpose balm something like Elisabeth Arden 8h cream (which I adore too) but 100% organic. I applied to my lips, cuticles, dry patches, eyebrows, etc.

John Frieda Frizz Ease Original Hair Serum. I have had a hard time finding a product to help with the frizz in my hair.  This leaves my hair smooth and silk, eliminates frizz and repels humidity. It also smells amazing.

What are your favourite winter products? I would love to hear your recommendations!

Nails of the week: Rimmel Salon Pro Oh, Mr Darcy

Thursday, 11 December 2014

Oh, Mr Darcy!

I love neutrals and nudes nail polishes and Rimmel's Salon Pro in Oh, Mr Darcy is my latest favourite. It's such a pretty neutral colour! It's a dusky, taupe with a slightly lilac undertone which gives a nice sophisticated manicure look.

I really like the wide rounded brush of this nail polish, makes the application quick and easy. It also dries quickly giving a gel finish effect. The nail varnish require two coats to become opaque.

Have you tried this nail polish?

Best of Kiko Cosmetics: Top 5 Must Haves

best kiko products, kiko cosmetics review, best kiko products

Kiko Cosmetics Top 5 Must Haves!

A while ago I did a post about the best and worst products from Kiko Cosmetics (Best & Worst products post) but I thought I'd give you an update with my top fives items.

I have tried quite a few products from Kiko but in my opinion these five are the best I've tried so far. If your are visiting a store for the first time or you are about to place an order on their website be sure to check out these products.

Nail Polishes and Nail Care. The Kiko nail lacquers are one of best sellers of the brand; they have so many colours to choose from and the quality of these is pretty good for a non-expensive polish. The Kiko 3 in 1 Shine Top coat and the Smooth Base Coat from their Nail Care section are worth trying as well.

Kiko Kiss Balms. These slightly tinted balms are very moisturising and comfortable to wear. There are 14 shades in total and they all are beautiful! (I made a post rencently about it here

Glamorous Eye PencilThey are very creamy, high pigmented and easy to blend and the colors are simply amazing.

Long Lasting Stick EyeshadowThey are really long lasting, water resistant, they have a pretty and sleek packaging and a wide range of shades.  I particularly love the shade number 5 called Rosy Brown,  a gorgeous bronze colour with a pink undertone (full review here).

Precision Eye Brow Pencil. This is one of my favourites products from Kiko Cosmetics. The application of this slim pencil is precise and gives off the perfect amount of product leaving a natural looking result. And it comes with its own sharpener!

Have you tried any of these products? Which is your favourite product from Kiko?

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Boy Dupe

Thursday, 4 December 2014

A dupe for one of my favourites lipsticks: Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Boy!

Chanel Boy Rouge Coco Shine is one of the most amazing lipsticks ever. It's the perfect lipstick to carry in your handbag. It's easy to wear, it goes with any make up look and it's so moisturizing. Kiko Pearly Kiss Balm in Pineapple is an amazing lip product as well, lovely colour, good formula, inexpensive and a perfect dupe for Chanel Boy, they're almost identical.

They're are both a pinky nude colour with some flecks of golden micro-glitter. It's a very pretty and flattering colour that looks really good on fair skin, it's one of those shades that won't wash your out.

The formula is very similar as well. They're sheer and very moisturizing and feel smooth and balmy on the lips. They look shiny on the lips but they don't last very long on.

The main difference between these two is the price tag, while the Chanel lipstick is around 30 €/£, the Kiko Kiss balm is only 5,90 €/£.

Hello December

Monday, 1 December 2014

Make it a December to remember

These are some of the products I've been loving lately and there's also a new addition that I know I'm going to use a lot. Here's what I'll be keeping in my make up bag during December.

I finally got my hands on the Diorskin Nude BB Cream after hearing so many good things about it. Have you tried it? I also got this mascara recently which I'm testing at the moment. It's the Catrice Glamour Doll Curl & Volume. It's quite nice although I still prefer the original Catrice Glamour Doll Volume mascara which is a really good one.

I'm completely in love with this nail polish at the moment. Maybelline Color Show #465 Brick Shimmer, such a lovely rose gold/copper color. (Check my november favourites to see more about this)
How beautiful is this Maybelline Color Tattoo Cream Eyeshadow in Metallic Pomegranate? I know I'll use this in some of the Christmas make up looks during this month. This is a gorgeous burgundy red with a brown undertone to it and some golden shimmer through it.
Lastly the lipstick that I've been keeping in my handbag the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Boy because is just goes with everything and is so moisturising,  without a doubt one of the most incredible lip products.
