Top five of the month

Saturday, 30 May 2015

Well, there are six products this month actually :)

This month I've been loving...

The Garnier Micellar Water. I'm a super fan of the Bioderma Sensibio but for some reason I decided to give this Garnier water a try and OMG, they're practically the same! But the Garnier is much much cheaper.

Essence So Glow Highlighter. I spoke about this little gem a couple of times already this month and how much I love it, you can see it here, here and here. This is the best drugstore highlighter ever. I absolutely love the sheen this product gives. And it's also perfect for everyday because it really looks natural on the skin.

Two old faves that I just re-discovered. The Coralista blush from Benefit, which is such a beautiful coral blush. The formula of this is amazing, it lasts all day and I find the colour so flattering. The Clinique Chubby Stick in Whole Lotta Honey is a lovely everyday sheer nude that goes with everything.

I've been wearing these two nail polishes this month. L'Oreal Macaron Noisette, a beige nude with a slightly peachy undertone. Check this post to see it on my nails. And Bikini so teeny, a baby blue colour with a subtle shimmer; I'm so impressed with the formula of this one, the colour is opaque with only two coats and lasts a whole week without chipping.

What are your favourites of the month?

New Products I'm excited to try

Thursday, 28 May 2015

A few new goodies

REN Pore Perfecting Trio Kit
Ren is a skincare brand that I really wanted to try and recently I found this trial kit on feelunique which is just perfect for trying some of their products. The kit includes: the REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask,  Clarimatte Invisible Pores Detox Mask and Micro Polish Cleanser.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Natural Bronze Gradual Tanner Moisturizer.
I needed a new gradual tanning moisturiser for summer since I can't find my beloved Dove Summer Glow at the drugstore anymore. I heard so many good things about this Palmer's one so I'm super exited to try it.

Colab Extreme Volume Dry Shampoo
This is a new version of the Colab dry shampoo, this time with a volume formula. This sounds super interesting. I can't wait to try it.

Nivea In Shower Body Moisturiser Firming Q10
I've tried the original Nivea In Shower moisturising but it was nothing special in my opinion. Nivea came up with this new firming version which sounds great, especially now that summer is coming

Five Coral-Orange Lipsticks

Tuesday, 26 May 2015

Even though I feel really strange wearing these kind of colours, I think because my lips are pretty pigmented and the colour don't show up as a true coral, I still love a coral-orange lipstick shade. This colour is super summery and fun and I love it for this time of the year. Here are my favourite coral-orange lipsticks:

Mac Vegas Volt
Beautiful opaque coral that brightens up your complexion. It's super pigmented and it feels creamy and hydrating so it is comfortable to wear.

Topshop Lipstick in Sartorial
This is a really bright vibrant coral. It's also very pigmented and quite drying. You have to make sure your lips are well moisturized.

Maybelline Coral Pop Lipstick
The formula of this isn't the best but I absolute love the peachy/coral colour of this one.

Kiko Ultra Glossy Stylo SPF15 #807 Red Coral
This is a beautiful sheer coral red. The formula is moisturising and leaves a juicy, glossy finish.

Maybelline Color Drama Velvet Lip Pencil in Fab Orange.
A super pigmented orange-red. It has a creamy texture and good staying powder.

What's your favourite coral lipstick?

Marc Jacobs Light Filtering Contour Powder

Thursday, 21 May 2015
marc jacobs filtering contour powder review

I love the look of sculpted cheekbones. I don't have naturally defined cheekbones so I have to fake the look.

I've been looking for a good contour palette for a while and after seeing many good reviews about this, I decided to purchase the Marc Jacobs #Instamarc Light Filtering Contour Powder

This palette come in three colours combinations. Each contour palette comes in a split pan with a bronzer and a highlighter.  The shades work together perfectly, giving a perfect contour effect but yet natural.  Dream Filter 20 is a soft pink/medium brown. I chose this one because of the neutral look of it and I thought it would go better with my pink/neutral undertone fair skin.

The powder is so incredible silky, creamy and so easy to blend. The highlighter is matte which makes it perfect for under the eye. For setting your concealer and brighten up the area. The packaging is really big but I actually love the design, it's really thin and light so it would be perfect for traveling.

The duo is great for a subtle everyday contoured and highlighted look but you can build the depth of the colour for a more defined result.

Great product, even for contouring newbies like me.

Do you use contouring products? What's your favourite?

Shades of White

Tuesday, 19 May 2015

I'm starting to like the white nails trend. It looks sleek, minimal and fun. These three are my favourites at the moment.

Essie Tuck It In My Tux
I love this one. It's a sheer ivory ivory that looks so beautiful on the nails. It's a jelly formula and tend to be a bit streaky . But it's not really difficult to work with although I need to apply three coats to get a good colour payoff. I'm thinking this could be a good wedding nail polish!

Essie Fiji
This popular shade is actually a pale pink colour. But it's so milky that looks more white than pink. The application of this is totally a mess, it's super streaky and it takes 3 coats to achieve an opaque look.

L'Oreal Color Riche Ocean Porcelaine
This is a colored version. L'Oreal released a series of pale colour white based nail polishes a while ago called Les Blancs. This is a very pale baby blue that looks almost white. You need to apply a couple of coats to get a more blue result.

Do you like the white nails thend?

Just a few things that I am currently loving this Spring

Sunglasses
Oh finally we get to wear sunglasses again, I'm so happy about that, they're my favourite fashion accessory. My favourites, the classic Ray-Ban Wayfarer and these Mango tortoise sunglasses.

Glowy and Neutral Makeup.
A neutral makeup routine that includes a light base, I'm in love with the Dior BB Cream; pinky shimmery eyes with the ByTerry Blackstar Eyeshadow stick in Frozen Quartz; Essence So glow highlighter for some glowy cheeks and a nude lip colour, lately I've been loving the Clinique Chubby Stick in Whole Lotta Honey.

Peachy-Nude nails.
This L'Oreal nail polish in Macaron Noisette is such a pretty neutral colour. A beige, peachy nude that looks gorgeous on the nails. Check this post where I talked about it.

Dainty Jewelry and Polka Dots.
I've been wearing a lot this H&M polka dot print blouse lately. The best option for this summer-y kind of weather that has been around, so comfortable and fresh. I've also been loving minimalist tiny jewelry recently. I love how delicate these bar earrings look.

What have you been loving lately?

Top Favourite Highlighters

my higlighters collection, best highlighters

Basically I can never have enough highlighters. I love a dewy, luminous skin and highlighter is one of my favourite beauty products. Powder, cream or liquid. I like them all.

These are my favourites.

Nars Copacabana Illuminator.  It's a pale pink colour and is extremely pigmented. It can be placed on the high points of the face, or neck and decollete for some dimension, or can be also mixed with your foundation.

Essence So Glow Cream to Powder #20 Bright up your lifeA more budget friendly option, but it's the most perfect highlighter for everyday use. Super beautiful sheen and super natural.

Chanel Le Blanc Sheer Illuminating BaseIt has a creamy consistency and you can wear it under the foundation as a primer or mix it with your normal foundation. It illuminates your skin, looking radiant and healthy.  It really evens out skin tone and prepares skin for makeup.

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter.  This gives the most amazing glow to your face! The texture is finely milled buttery. It's really pigmented but blends easily and beautifully into the skin.

Mac Cream Color Base in Hush. The colour of this is something between a peachy colour and a rose gold. Super gorgeous. It gives a lovely natural sheen to the cheeks.

Dior Amber Diamond. A cult product but I think is discontinued although you can still find it somewhere. This gives a more golden bronze-y glow. You can use these also as eye shadows!

L'Oreal Lumi Magique Touch of LightThis is more a highlighting concealer but I actually love this on the top of my cheeks or down the nose. This gives such a beautiful subtle glow to the face.

Rimmel Good To Glow #3 Soho glow. The consistency of this is very light and the colour is a warm golden which is perfect for summer and for that sun kissed glow effect.

If I had to choose or recommend only one I would definitely pick The Balm Mary-Lou, it's the perfect natural gold highlighter. If you prefer a pinky glow, I would go for Essence So Glow, it's a really good and natural highlighter and so inexpensive.

Have you tried any of these? What's your favourite highlighter?

Spring Daily Makeup

Tuesday, 12 May 2015

I love playing with makeup but for everyday I like a simple makeup routine and this is the look I've been doing most days lately.
My everyday look is a pretty neutral one. Glowy skin, pink lips and coral cheeks.

Face:  I love the Dior BB Cream, it gives a very natural fresh look. It's lightweight so it's perfect for when the weather starts to get warmer. I usually have to use concealer with this for some areas. My favourite concealer at the moment is Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, I will never stop recommending this, it's so good!

Eyes: By Terry Ombre Blackstar cream eyeshadow in Frozen Quartz all over the lid and a bit of mascara. This one is Rimmel Wonder'Full with Argan Oil in extreme black. Essence Make me brow to define the brows.

Cheeks:  I apply my favourite bronzer, The Body Shop Honey Bronzing Powder in the lightest colour over my cheeks and temples. Benefit Coralista as a blush on the apples of my cheeks and tiny bit of this Essence So Glow highlighter which I've been loving lately, check this post where I spoke about this little gem.

Lips: My favourite lip combo lately, Tanya Burr lip gloss in Sparkling Dewdrops and YSL Sheer Candy lipstick in the shade 09 Cool Guava.

Let me know what your everyday picks are too :)

Finding the perfect nude / Finding my wedding nail polish

Friday, 8 May 2015

Bar earrings - Asos / Ring - Mango

I'm a sucker for nude nails. I'm literally obsessed with finding the perfect nude nail polish. And especially since I got engaged. I've already started the research for the perfect colour for that day. A classic, sophisticated and elegant nude nail polish.

L'Oreal Macaron Noisette is a beige nude with a slightly peachy undertone. It has silver shimmer through it, but is very subtle and you barely can't see on the nails. It's quite sheer but with only two coats looks absolutely beautiful. And the wide brush makes a super easy application. I also love how naturally glossy this looks.

I'm so impressed with this nail colour that I'm thinking this could be a lovely bridal nail polish. A good drugstore option. A nice option if you are looking for something inexpensive.

Tell me, what's your favourite nude nail polish?

Three Must Haves from Essence Cosmetics

Wednesday, 6 May 2015

best of essence cosmetics

I've tried quite a few products from Essence Cosmetics but I've recently discovered three new products which I'm quite obsessed with. They've really impressed me! These are so inexpensive and the quality is really good. Three must haves for me. Make sure to check them out!

Bar Earrings - Asos

Here're three products you should try from Essence Cosmetics:

A Benefit Gimme Brow dupe for under 3 euro!  I usually only use eye brow pencils but I'm so impressed with this little thing! The tiny wand allows precise application and the result is very natural.  There are little fibers in it that make the brows look fuller and the colour stays on the whole day.
I got the lightest shade (there are only two shades) called 01 blondy brows, which is a warm toned light brown but blends into the brow so well.

This is such a beautiful colour. It's a lovely pinky nude, 'my lips but better' kind of shade. The formula is very creamy and moisturising. It's super comfortable to wear although is not super long lasting, you have to keep re-applying throughout the day.  Apparently this is great dupe for Mac Brave lipstick.

Where do I begin? I love this highlighter! This blends out nicely and make the face glow. I absolutely love the sheen this product gives. It's perfect for everyday because it really looks natural on the skin. There are two shades in the collection. I got the shade 20 Bright up your life, which is a nice pink glow.

Have you tried any of these? What's your favourite Essence product?

Top Five of the Month

Monday, 4 May 2015

It's that time again, monthly favourites! These are the things I've been using regularly during April.

Now that the sun has come out I need to wear spf a lot more so I've been using the La Roche Posay Anthelios SPF50 Dry Touch Gel Cream. I'm pleasantly surprised with this! The formula is not greasy and is great for wearing under make up.  It leaves the skin shine free and without white marks. Highly recommended if you are looking for the perfect facial sun cream!

I decided to try this Lush Herbalism Facial Cleanser out as my skin is quite stressed and breaking out lately. And I must say I'm enjoying it. This cleans my skin without drying it out or irritating it which is great for sensitive skin. I truly noticed a difference in my skin after this, the product has helped with the blemishes and to clear up the skin. It also exfoliates but is really gentle, so it's perfect for everyday use. I'm not a fan of the smell though.

I've been reaching a lot for this Milani Illuminating Face Powder in Hermosa Rose that can be used as a bronzer or blush. I use this alone on my cheeks and it gives a healthy colour and a beautiful subtle glow. Lovely and inexpensive product!

I'm obsessed with the Mac Soba eyeshadow, a warm golden brown shade that it goes on beautifully. I think this is very flattering on brown-hazel eyes, it make them pop!

Oh Mac Chatterbox lipstick! This is one of my favourites lipsticks for Spring (and Summer!). It's a lovely light coral-pink with a nice creamy texture. It gives such a nice pop of colour and brightens up an everyday make up.
