givenchy healthy powder review, laura mercier caviar stick review, beauty blender

This month I decided to do the no-spend February challenge after reading Faith's post (this one here) as I thought it was a great idea. So I've been saving here and there so I could reward myself with a trip to Sephora at the end of the month. This is what I got:

GIVENCHY HEALTHY GLOW POWDER
This bronzing powder is just beautiful and such a joy to use. It gives a lovely warmth and glow to the skin without looking too glittery. This is my first Givenchy makeup item and I have to say I'm very surprised with the quality.
BEAUTY BLENDER MAKEUP SPONGE
I finally got my hands on one of these! I've seen so many people using them these sponges lately that I really wanted to try it. I know Real Techniques does a good sponge and much cheaper version but here in Italy there isn't a big price difference between these two really so I went for the original beauty blender. I'm excited to try this out!
LAURA MERCIER CAVIAR STICK IN COPPER
I love stick eyeshadows and I love warm gold-brown colours so this one is just perfect. It's such a gorgeous shade! These fantastic eye sticks stay in place all day! I really want to get the shade Rose Gold as well...
SEPHORA PEARL MASK
Sephora has these sheet masks which aren't bad at all. I tried the Rose one in the past and it was very nice but this time I went for the Pearl one which is the perfecting and brightening mask.

Have you tried any of these products? What have you bought recently?

dior bb cream review, becca afterglow review, kiko primer review, mac faux review, sephora lip stain

This month I've been loving all these lovely things...

DIORSKIN NUDE BB CREME link
No surprises here. I love this BB Cream so much. I find it's the perfect makeup base for this time of the year. This feels light and gives a good glow to the skin. It's natural and has the right amount of coverage to cover redness and marks.
It contains SPF 10 and stays on pretty well, doesn't fade throughout the day.  I love the packaging too, super travel-friendly.
BECCA AFTER GLOW PALETTE link
This is a beautiful and super versatile palette. It's small and compact which makes it perfect to carry around. The colour selection is just perfection!. The palette contains three highligters, one blush/bronzer and one blush. I actually use some of the shades as eyeshadows. The quality is amazing, it's pigmented and the glow and shimmer in these are stunning.
KIKO CITY FILTER PRIMER link
I've been enjoying using this primer from KIKO. It has SPF 50 which is amazing for a primer. It works perfectly as a makeup base. It's moisturizing, it feels light and it absorbs quickly into the skin.
MAC FAUX LIPSTICK link
I've been wearing this so much throughout the month. This is a beautiful mauvey pink colour with a cool undertone. It leaves a semi matte finish with a pretty sheen. It's creamy, moisturising, glides on smoothly and is very comfortable to wear.
MAC POWERSURGE EYE PENCIL link
This has been a good addition to my eye liner collection. Such a pretty gold shade. It's a lovely warm, shimmery antique gold colour that looks so beautiful on the eyes.
SEPHORA CREAM LIP STAIN  MARVELOUS MAUVE link
Another lippie I'm obsessed with. This is a beautiful mauve pink nude. These matte liquid lipsticks are amazing. They come in so many beautiful shades. They're incredibly long lasting and so comfortable to wear on the lips.

pink nude lipsticks, pale skin
I'm a pinky nude lipstick lover. You can never go wrong with a pink nude lipstick. Basically I can't stop wearing these four. Perfect neutral lipsticks!

TANYA BURR LIP GLOSS IN LUNCH DATE link
Lunch Date is the perfect pinky nude colour, such a pretty and wearable colour. These lip glosses are creamy, pigmented and they don't feel sticky like other lip glosses so they're comfortable to wear.

CLINIQUE POP LIP COLOUR IN NUDE POP link
I love this lipstick so much! It has quickly become my go-to natural lipstick. Nude Pop is a pinky beige colour. I really like the formula too; it's semi-opaque with a creamy consistency.
DIOR FLUID STICK in 229 BEIGE PASSION link
It's a great everyday shade, a very natural pink beige nude. I love the hybrid formula. It feels like water when it goes on and doesn't feel sticky. It's got a long lasting, creamy and very smooth texture.
MAC FAUX LIPSTICK link
This is a beautiful mauvey pink colour with a cool undertone. It has a satin finish which I really like. It leaves a semi matte finish with a pretty sheen. It's creamy, moisturising, glides on smoothly and is very comfortable to wear.

Current Makeup Bag Favourites

makeup favorites, staples makeup bag, favorites products
Some staples I've been using daily. I'm loving these makeup items at the moment.  This post could be also called FOUR PRODUCT MAKEUP. This is all you need for a natural daily look.
Take a look at this post where you can see my face wearing only these products :)

BECCA AFTER GLOW PALETTE link
I'm in love with this palette. It's super versatile, compact and tiny so it's perfect to carry in your makeup bag. The colour selection is just perfection!. The palette contains three highligters, one blush/bronzer and one blush. But I actually use the three shades in the middle as eyeshadows because the colours are perfection, a rose gold, a bronzy colour and a warm brown. The quality is amazing, the glow and shimmer in these are stunning.
DIORSKIN NUDE BB CREME link
I've been reaching for this a lot lately. I love it for when I want breathable, lightweight coverage. It looks beautiful on the skin, it feels light and gives a lovely glow. It's natural and has the right amount of coverage to cover redness and marks. It stays on pretty well, doesn't fade throughout the day. I love the packaging,  is super travel-friendly and it contais SPF 10.

MAYBELLINE LASH SENSATIONAL MASCARA link
Everything about this mascara is great and everyone seems to love it. Great one from the drugstore. It goes on easily and it has an immediate impact on the look of the lashes. The curved brush really helps to cover each individual lash. The result: the lashes look fuller and volumised.
It really is a lovely colour if you're looking for something natural but with some colour to it.

Five Empties I will repurchase

beauty empties I will repurchase, beauty favorites
Five beauty products that I absolutely enjoyed using and I will definitely buy again.

VICHY NORMADERM BEAUTIFYING ANTI BLEMISH-CARE 24h link
It's an amazing product designed for imperfection prone skin that fights against blemishes, dilated pores, colour marks and dull skin. And that actually works! I've been using this religiously every day and my skin looks in much better condition. The texture is super fresh and non-greasy and it absorbs quickly into the skin.
L'OREAL FIBROLOGY THICKENING SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER link
I'm so impressed with these. The product really adds volume and gives a lift. The frangance is beautiful and lasts all day. I use the shampoo in conjuction with the conditioner and my hair is thicker and fuller, it's shiny and feels great.
BENEFIT CORALISTA BLUSH  link
It's such a beautiful blush, the perfect coral blush! It gives a lovely glow and a healthy look. I've had this for so long, the box is quite destroyed, the packaging is not the best to be honest. But the colour is so beautiful and flattering that I really need to repurchase this.
MAYBELLINE MASTER SHAPE BROW PENCIL link
It's a fantastic brow pencil. I love the waxy texture that makes the application super easy and the result is super natural.
GARNIER MIRACLE CREAM link
I love this stuff. Especially during summer. This tinted cream has a light texture, it's easy to apply and blend onto the skin living a natural look with a lovely healthy glow. It instantly gives a flawless skin tone, reducing the appearance of the pores and fine lines.  A big plus for the SPF20. I don't know what's in it but is amazing!

Valentine's Day Look

valentines day makeup look, simple motd

Happy Valentine's day everyone!
What's your plan for the day? My plans for today: a day in the city, some shopping and a few drinks with my fiancé
My Valentine's day makeup look is super simple. Nothing dramatic. I can't be bothered with complicated things. I wanted  something simple and easy to wear.
valentines day makeup look, simple motd

THE BASE. Dior BB Creme. Lightweight, fresh an glowy on the skin and that lasts well on the skin.
THE CONCEALERS. Kiko Full Coverage for redness and marks and Maybelline Fit Me concealer for under the eye.
THE HIGHLIGHTER. I applied the H&M Halo Illuminiser in the shade Champagne Gold before my foundation, I love this stuff!
THE PALETTES. I've recently got the Becca After Glow Palette and I'm loving it! I actually used some of the colours as eyeshadows! I applied the pinky toned shade, flowerchild, as a blush, the shade wild honey as a bronzer and the shade moonstone as a highlighter. So multitasking!
I also used some of the matte shades from the Stila Eyes Are the Window Soul Palette.
THE MASCARA. Maybelline Lash Sensational is amazing! Best drugstore mascara ever!
THE EYE PENCIL. MAC Powersurge Eye Khol, a beautiful antiqued gold colour.
THE LIP PENCIL. MAC Dervish lip liner to define my lips.
THE LIPSTICK. MAC Milan Mode. For the lips I wanted something brighter, but yet simple and easy to re-apply during the day (after a glass of prosecco). This glossy fuchsia pink is perfect for the day.

Do you celebrate this day? I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's day!

Kiko Cosmetics: Best & Worst | 2016 updated

kiko best products, kiko cosmetics reviews, best kiko products

KIKO COSMETICS is becoming really popular all over Europe and US right now. They have been opening stores everywhere and everyone seems to like the brand. It's one of the most loved brands here in Italy, and they are always putting out loads of new products with pretty packaging and affordable prices.
A while ago I did a blogpost about the best and worst Kiko products which has been quite popular but I though it was time to update this post I wrote more than two years ago.

Are you planning on visiting the store or thinking about placing an order? Take a look at this if you don't know what to buy :)

best

BLUSHES.  Beautiful range of colours. Pigmented and long lasting. Make sure to check the COLOUR VEIL BLUSHES, illuminating baked blushes. (review here)
STICK EYESHADOWS. They're extremely long lasting, water resistant, pretty and sleek packaging and a wide range of shades. (review here)
FULL COVERAGE CONCEALER. It's creamy, covers blemishes and marks. It does come with a mirror so it's quite a handy product for touch ups during the day. The colour selection is quite good too.
UNLIMITED STYLO LIPSTICKS. If you like matte lipsticks you'll love these! These go on creamy but dries matte after a few minutes and they hold forever and don't move around.
NAIL POLISHES. They have so many colours to choose from and the quality of these is pretty good for a non-expensive polish. The last year they launched the new POWER PRO NAIL LACQUERS and they're amazing. I highly recommend these! (review here)
SMART LIP PENCILS. They're only 2euros and they are fantastic! They're creamy, pigmented and can be used on the entire lip.
BROW PENCILSThe application is precise and gives off the perfect amount of product leaving a natural looking result. Last year Kiko launched the new brow pecils, EYEBROW SCULPT AUTOMATIC PENCIL, which are double ended with a spooly at one end and the twist up pencil at the other. It has that triangular-wedge shape which makes the application easy and precise.

COLLECTIONS. New Kiko collections are frequent and you can always find some good products. Don't forget to take a look at them!
PRIMERS. Make sure to check their primers. They have a good selection and they're not bad at all. The EYE BASE works well as eyeshadow primer, it goes on easily, dries quickly and keeps the eyeshadow looking great.
WATER EYESHADOWS These eyeshadows can be used wet or dry and they super pigmented specially when used wet.
OTHER. The lip balms or some of the highlighters are also worth trying.

worst

FOUNDATIONS. I've never been a fan of their foundations. What I tried it didn't work for me. I'm still using the UNIVERSAL FIT FOUNDATION but I don't love it but I know a lot of people love it . In genereal, the colour selection is not great. It's hard to find light shades.
SINGLE EYESHADOWS. They're pretty bad quality. Some of them are not pigmented enough others are too glittery with giant glitter chunks, and the packaging is very flimsy.
SMART EYE PENCILS. They're hard to work with and some of them are not pigmented at all.
MASCARAS. I haven't tried all of the mascaras but the ones I tried were very clumpy and did nothing at all to my lashes.
SMART LIPSTICKS. These are super inexpensive and there are really pretty colours but the formula is not good. They aren't pigmented or creamy and don't last long.
BRUSHES. The makeup brushes are hard and difficult to work with. Some of the bristles fall down when you apply your makeup.

Mac Mini Haul

mac faux lipstick

I recently did a back-to-mac and picked up Mac Faux lipstick. I'm obsessed with browny pink lipsticks at the moment. I'm so into these colours I thought this one would be a great addition to my collection.
Faux is a mauvey pink colour with a cool undertone. It is more pink than what I thought it would be but it works fine. It has a satin finish which I really like. It leaves a semi matte finish with a pretty sheen. It's creamy, moisturising, glides on smoothly and is very comfortable to wear.
It really is a lovely colour if you're looking for something natural but with some colour to it.

I also picked up the Powersurge eye kohl which is a beautiful antique gold colour. It's a lovely warm, shimmery gold that looks so beautiful on the eyes. I'm so pleased I found this. It's just what I wanted especially since my favourite Kiko pencil (Kiko Golden Hazelnut eye pencil here) has been discontinued. I think this could be a good replacement.

Have you tried any of these? What is your favourite Mac nude lipstick?
