favorite brown eyeshadows, mac bronze, kiko eyeshadow review

I'm a sucker for warm browns eyeshadows!
I do have a good collection of brown eyeshadows but these five are my favourites at the moment. If you are a brown eyeshadow lover, make sure to check them out.

URBAN DECAY EYESHADOW in RIFF
Riff is a warm orangey-brown colour with a hint of gold sparkle. It's super pigmented but very blendable. This works well as a crease colour too.
HIGH IMPACT EYE COLOUR EYESHADOW in GINGER SNAP
This is a high pigmented amber-copper colour. It's quite shimmery and lasts pretty well on the lid. I love the formula of these H&M eyeshadows, they're really good!
MAC BRONZE EYESHADOW
It's a true bronze colour. The pigmentation is excellent, so buttery soft. It's a great colour to wear all over the lid. It can be worn alone or for a more smokey eye look. A must have!
LAURA MERCIER CAVIAR STICK IN COPPER
It's a lovely warm copper colour with a metallic finish. It's creamy, easy to apply and stays in place all day. I'm obsessed with this at the moment!
KIKO WATER EYESHADOW 208
Beautiful light gold colour, it's very pigmented, buttery and long lasting. This eyeshadow can be used wet or dry and is super pigmented especially when used wet.
Do you love warm browns as much as I do?

March Favourites | Top 5 of the month

kiko concealer review, givenchy bronzer review, laura mercier caviar stick review, essie eternal optimist

This month I've been loving...

GIVENCHY HEALTHY GLOW POWDER link
This bronzing powder is just beautiful and such a joy to use.  I love it because it looks natural, it gives a lovely warmth and glow to the skin without looking too glittery. This is the shade number three and is still light on my skin so it's great for fair complexion.

LAURA MERCIER CAVIAR STICK IN COPPER link
It's such a gorgeous shade! It's a gorgeous warm gold-brown colour .  It's also verycreamy and stays in place all day.

ESSIE ETERNAL OPTIMIST NAIL POLISH link
I love this nail polish so much. It is a beautiful dusty pink, a great shade for a everyday wear and flattering on many different skin tones.
CLARINS INSTANT LIGHT LIP BALM PERFECTOR IN CORAL link
These tinted lip balms are so good! They're hydrating and comfortable to wear. This shade is a sheer peachy pink; effortless colour that gives a beautiful glow to the lips.
KIKO FULL COVERAGE CONCEALER link
It covers blemishes and marks well.  I don't really like it for the under eye area, I don't find it hydrating enough for that area and I'm not convinced with the finish. But I do like it for the rest of the face and I love the packaging, so tiny and great to carry with you. It does come with a mirror so it's quite a handy product to have in your bag for touch ups during the day.

Neutrals | Favourite makeup products

Thursday, 24 March 2016
natural makeup products, nude makeup products, pale skin

I am neutral makeup lover!
All the looks I create involve mostly neutral makeup products. A  type of makeup that is always in.
So I have put together my top neutral products.

Urban Decay Naked 3 palette - perfect palette for all those neutral lovers and rose gold lovers.
MAC 'Ladyblush' cream blush - a warm rosy colour with a little peachiness to it.
MAC 'Soba' eyeshadow -  it's a warm golden brown with tiny gold shimmer particles; the perfect my-lids-but-better kind of shade.
L'Oreal 'Over the top' eyeshadow -  a shimmery golden brown. Perfect wash of colour on the lid.
Tanya Burr 'Lunch Date' lipgloss -  it's the perfect everyday pinky nude colour, it's such a pretty and wearable colour.
Revlon 'Enchanting' Matte Balm - a lovely peachy nude colour. It's matte, moisturising and glides so easily over your lips.
MAC 'Patisserie' pinky nude shade with particles of shimmer.  It's a great MLBB colour that would suit a wide range of skin tones
Nars 'Dolce Vita' a sheer dusty rose and the ultimate your-lips-but-better shade. It's creamy and hydrating and just slightly glossy.
H&M 'Dusty Rose' velvet cream blush - a soft mauve pink that gives a natural flush to the cheeks. This pink-nude blush is so pretty and the perfect neutral, as it goes with any look.
Nars 'Copacabana' Illuminator - a pale and extremely pigmented pink highlighter that gives the most amazing glow.
Nars 'Douceur'a beautiful rosey nude colour and the perfect natural blush

No-Makeup | Makeup Look

Sunday, 20 March 2016
no makeup look, natural nakeup look,

There are days where you don't want to wear makeup at all. But you still want to look fresh and more 'put together', you want to look alive basically. This is my favourite look for those days. Fresh makeup and natural looking.
These are my basic makeup products for a no-makeup, makeup look.
Five minutes and I'm done!

THE BASE
BB cream to even out the complexion. Dior BB Creme looks natural on the skin and leaves a luminous finish. It contains SPF 10 which always a bonus.
THE EYES
I used one of the shades from the Afterglow palette by Becca, the colour Wild Honey, which is a warm brown and looks super beautiful alone all over the lid. I also used the Rimmel Nude eyeliner on the lower waterline to open up the eyes and one coat of the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara.
THE BROWS
Maybelline Master Shape brow pencil.  I love the waxy texture that makes the application super easy and the result is super natural.
THE CHEEKS
Bronzer to give some warmth and definition. Givenchy Healthy Glow gives a lovely and natural finish.
THE LIPS
Some tinted lip balm, it's the best option. Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector in the shade Coral,  a sheer peachy pink colour, effortless colour that goes with everything and keeps the lips hydrated.

no makeup look, natural nakeup look,

And I'm done with the look!

favorites blushes fair skin, natural blushes

Blushes are fun! Blush is one of my all time favourite makeup products so I'm excited to do this one. Thank you, Faith of That's just fabulous for tagging me!

What colour blush suits you the most?
Soft pinks, peachy-pink shades do well on me. I think these colours suit most skin tones.
Pressed, cream or loose blush?
Pressed, I just find them easier to work with. I like cream blushes, they leave a lovely natural finish on the skin but I feel like I don't know how to apply them properly.
Favourite shimmery blush?
I adore 'Coralista' by Benefit. I think it might be my favourite blush of all time. It gives such a natural colour and glow to my cheeks.
Favourite matte blush?
Nars 'Douceur'. Douceur is a beautiful rosey nude colour and the perfect natural blush! I still can't believe this has been discontinued. I also love Burberry 'Earthy' which is also a gorgeous natural light brown blush. I use this as a contour powder sometimes!
Favourite cream blush?
I love the shade 'Ladyblush"by Mac. It'a a warm rosy muted colour with a little peachiness to it. It looks very natural on the cheeks, it gives that natural flush. I've recently discovered the H&M cream blushes, and I fell in love with the shade (and the packaging) 'Dusty Rose', a soft mauve pink that gives a natural flush to the cheeks.
favorites blushes fair skin, natural blushes
Favourite drugstore blush?
Rimmel 'Santa Rose' is one of my favourite blushes. It's a peachy pink shade that gives a nice healthy glow. It's such a gourgeous colour! I also love the Max Factor Creme Puff blushes, they blend beautifully and have a nice shimmer to it.
Favourite high-end blush?
Benefit 'Coralista' again, I love it so much. But also Nars blushes in general, they're fantastic!
Favourite bright blush?
Nars 'Orgasm'. I love this one especially in the summer. It's the brighter sister of Benefit 'Coralista'.
Biggest blush disappointment/regret?
I think MAC 'Rosy Outlook'. It's a  super beautiful matte soft coral shade,. The blush is so pretty but sadly it didn't show up the way I wanted on my skin. I found that the pigmentation didn't transfer to the cheeks very well which is a shame.
Best blush packaging?
I like the simplicity of Mac blushes. They're compact, you can see what colour is inside and they're great for travelling. But Nars packaging is so chic!
What's on your blush wishlist?
Hourglass! I really want to try their blushes. Oh and Tarte!
Number 1 Holy Grail blush?
I have to mention 'Benefit Coralista' again. I can't say enough good things about it. I love the formula, the colour, the finish and that it goes with any makeup look.

I'd love to read yours if you decide to do this tag. I'm tagging a few ladies as well: MatejaGyudy and Caitlin to do this next :)

Travel Makeup | In my makeup bag

travel makeup essentials. travel makeup bag

I'm going on vacation in a few days! I'll be back in Scotland and I can't wait. When it comes to travel makeup less is more for me. I always try to simplify. But without leaving any essentials behind. This is what I'm taking with me.

Clear Makeup Bag
I like to put my makeup in a clear makeup bag, Ideal for taking on holiday with you. It makes everything easier. This makeup bag is from H&M.
One Palette
Becca Afterglow. This small palette has everything I need. I like to use multi-purpose products and this palette contains three highligters, one blush/bronzer and one blush but I actually use some of the shades as eyeshadows. Perfect!
One Base Product
Most of the time I like to carry a natural, lighweight base like a BB/CC Cream with SPF in it. This time I'm bringing the Chanel CC Cream.
Compact powder
My trusty Chanel Les Beiges that goes always with me.
One Eyebrow product
I like to carry the Anastasia Brow Wiz. It's precise and works perfectly.
Two concealers
One for the under-eye area, Maybelline Fit Me, and one for blemishes and marks, Kiko Full Coverage concealer.
One Stick Eyeshadow
Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Copper. It's easy to apply and stays in place all day.
One Bronzer
Givenchy Healthy Glow Powder. I love it because it looks natural, it gives a lovely warmth and glow to the skin without looking too glittery.
One Highlighter
I'll be using the highlighters from the Becca palette, but I still want to pack a liquid highlighter (this one is the H&M Halo Illuminiser) to apply before my foundation or to mix with other products for an extra glow. I'm a highlighter junkie!
One Mascara
I chose one of my favourite mascaras, Maybelline Lash Sensational
Three Lip products
Three options for any occasion. One tinted lip balm, Dior Lip Glow; One matte lipstick, Sephora Cream Lip Stain in Marvelous Mauve and one lip gloss, Dior Fluid Stick in Beige Passion.

The matte liquid lipstick | Sephora Cream Lip Stain

Sunday, 6 March 2016
sephora lip stain marvelous mauve review, kylie jenner lipstick

Call it the Kylie Jenner effect but I've been obsessed with matte lipsticks lately and with this one in particular, the Sephora Cream Lip Stain #13 Marvelous Mauve link

This is a lovely mauve pink-brown colour. It's actually the first time I find a mauve colour super beautiful and wearable. I think this one is flattering and easy to wear.
These Sephora liquid lipsticks are seriously amazing, They're highly pigmented and long lasting. Ok they still need to be reapplied after eating and drinking but it's easy to touch up with the precise applicator,  They're super confortable to wear. feel great and lighweight on the lips.
Great formula too. They have a silky texture and this one is super opaque with only one coat. It is non-drying and another thing that I noticed is when the colour begins to fade, it fades smoothly and evenly, not patchy or flaky.

One of the best liquid lipsticks out there!

Have you tried the Sephora Cream Lip Stains?

TAG | The Beauty Lover

Friday, 4 March 2016

It's been a long time since I've done a tag! This one was so much fun to answer. Thanks to the lovely Faith for tagging me! :) Here it goes:

If you could have anyone in the world do your makeup, who will it be?
Lisa Eldridge. I love all the natural and effortless makeup looks she creates. It would be a pleasure to meet her and chat about makeup. She seems such a lovely person!
I would also love to have the makeup artist, Ania Milczarczyk, she's the queen of dewy, glowing skin and flawless makeup application.
What's your top makeup tip?
A little bit of highlighter can change your whole face!
What one makeup item could you not live without?
Tinted Moisturiser or a lightweight foundation. Simple and no-fuss application. Something to even out my skin and make me look more awake. It's all I need when I don't want to wear makeup but I still want my skin to look good.
What one skincare item could you not live without?
Thermal Water. It's such a good and versatile product. I use it for everything. As a toner after cleansing, after shaving, to calm sensitive and irritated skin or to freshen up specially during summer.  I couldn't live without it. OH and SPF cream, very important!
What are you worst at when it comes to applying makeup?
OH GOD. Winged liner. I've seen so many tutorials, I've tried the "scotch tape" trick and even the "spoon" trick but nothing, my eyeliner never looks right. It seems so simple but I just can't get the hang of it!
What's your biggest pet peeve when it comes to beauty?
I find particularly disturbing those harsh foundation lines around the perimeter of the face. Especially when you're wearing a darker shade than your skin tone. Make sure to blend the foundation down the neck!
What's your favourite makeup era?
I love the 60's makeup, the cat-eye and the nude lip look. Just think about all those iconic beauties like Brigitte Bardot or Sophia Loren.
What's your guilty pleasure product?
Highlighters. I'm a fan of dewy makeup so I love buying them. I'm always on the hunt for the perfect one, that one that gives the perfect glow that looks like it comes from within. My makeup wishlist is full of face highlighters to try.
What's your underdog product?
The H&M Halo Illuminiser in the colour Champagne Gold is the most beautiful highlighter I've seen in a while. It's the most perfect champagne colour. It's pigmented and blends out like a dream. It's absolutely gorgeous and inexpensive!
What's your favourite makeup product of 2015?
This one is hard but if I have to choose only one it has to be the L'Oreal Infallible Matte Foundation. It's such a lovely foundation. Lightweight, doesn't cake and long lasting! Great for the warmer months. Don't let the matte word confuse you, it actually gives a beautiful radiant finish.
