Hello September! I'm super excited for Autumn!

Top Five of the month

Sunday, 30 August 2015

This month I've been loving...

I literally can't live without this! I use this as a toner after cleansing, after shaving and to calm sensitive and irritated skin. I keep a big bottle in my bathroom and the travel size is perfect for keeping up in your bag and freshen up specially during summer.

I've been wearing these two beautiful polishes part of the L'Oreal "Les Blancs" collection. Gourmandise is a white-based pastel lavender (full review here) and Peach Neglige is a white-based light peach colour. The polishes have a good consistency and provide a good coverage.
I re-discovered this old favourite. This nude-pink lip liner is the perfect shade for everyday. It's completely matte, creamy and so easy to apply.  It goes on smoothly and the shape of the applicator makes the application really easy.

MY MAC QUAD (full post here)
I've been using my Mac quad so much lately specially the eyeshadow Woodwinked; a shimmery warm gold-bronze with an orange/red undertone. It's the perfect warm gold colour. I just wear it by itself, apply eyeliner and mascara and I'm ready to go. The texture is so buttery, smooth and blends like a dream.

Makeup Favourites of the Summer

Friday, 28 August 2015
Summer is almost gone so I though I'd do a little round-up with some of my favourites of this Summer. These have been my most used products for the last couple of months:

L'Oreal Infallible Matte Foundation
I've been obsessed with this foundation from L'Oreal. The formula is incredible lightweight while still providing great coverage. It's very comfortable to wear and stays great the whole day. It's semi-matte but it leaves a beautiful glow to the skin. It's an amazing foundation for summer. It's sweat-proof and it won't melt off your face.

Eye Pencil: Kiko Glamorous Eye Pencil in Golden Hazelnut
I love these Kiko eye pencils, they're so creamy and the colour of this one in particular is stunning! It's a lovely gold bronzy colour.

Garnier Miracle Cream
This is really a miracle in a bottle. It instantly gives a flawless skin tone, reducing the appearance of the pores and fine lines.  This tinted cream has a light texture, it's easy to apply and blend onto the skin living a natural look with a lovely healthy glow.

Mac Cream Color Base in the shade Hush
A peachy, rose gold highlighter I use on my cheeks, nose and on the inner corner of my eyes and even as eyeshadow. The texture is creamy but not sticky and the finish is dewy without any shimmer or sparkle.

Essie Splash of Grenadine
Splash of Grenadine is a summery, fun, and girly shade! The perfect pinkish purple colour, not too pink, not too purple.

Benefit Coralista blush
This is my go-to summer blush. It's a flattering warm coral colour that looks great on everyone. It blends flawlessly and gives a natural glow and colour to the skin.

Kiko Power Pro Nail Laquers

Tuesday, 25 August 2015

Kiko recently released a new line of nail polishes, the Pro nail laquers, salon-quality polishes with high shine colour.
I've got two shades, 04 Rose Sand and 24 Magenta. They have a wide variety of colours and they're all beautiful. I'm obsessed with the nude colour that I got,  it's a warm peachy nude colour that looks so beautiful on the nails.

I really like the new brush. It's large and thick, it glides over the nail easily which makes the application very easy. The polish dries really quickly, always a bonus. The consistency is amazing and one coat provides a great full coverage. I do also love the finish of these, super shiny and glossy.

This range promises up to seven days wear. The first time I tried these I didn't apply base or top coat and my nails chipped in one day! The second time I wore top coat and they lasted five days perfect.

There are 45 shades to choose from and I think I will pick up some more colours soon.

Best Drugstore Blushes

Sunday, 23 August 2015

These are my top five blushes from the drugstore:

This can be used as a blush but also as a bronzer. I use this alone on my cheeks and it gives a healthy colour and a beautiful bronzy glow.

These are amazing! The quality of these is fantastic. They're long lasting, stay on all day and the colours are beautiful. Live Pink is a warm rosy pink with gold shimmer in it. Santa Rose  is one of my go-to daily blushes, is a soft peach/pink that gives a healthy dewy glow on the cheeks.

I recently discovered these baked blushes from Kiko Coametics and I love them! They have a slight sheen but there is no glitter whatsoever. All the shades are beautiful. The shade 01 Pink is a warm peachy pink. It's pigmented and leaves a gorgeous glossy sheen on the cheeks.

These blushes are great, they're super pigmented and the colours are gorgeous. The shade Lovely Pink is a peachy pink colour that gives a fresh faced look and stays on for ages.

Makeup Haul And First Impressions

Friday, 21 August 2015

This is what I bought recently and some first impressions:

KIKO POWER PRO NAIL LAQUER.  Kiko recently released a new line of nail polishes, the Pro nail laquers. I've got two shades, 04 Rose Sand and 24 Magenta. They have a wide variety of colours and they're all beautiful. I really like the brush, it makes the application very easy. It glides over the nail easily and leaves a glossy finish.

L'OREAL MISS MANGA WATERPROOF. I'm really curious about this mascara from L'Oreal. I've heard so many things about this. Have you try it? Let me know what do you think.

KIKO COLOUR VEIL BLUSH. These baked blushes are also new from Kiko Cosmetics and they come in 6 beautiful colours.  The shade 01 Pink is a beautiful peachy pink colour. It gives the cheeks a natural luminosity and radiant finish.

MAC EYESHADOW IN BRONZE. A golden bronze colour with shimmer. A classic colour that looks so beautiful as a wash of colour over the lid. I can't believe I didn't get this before!

KIKO SMART LIP PENCIL. I picked up this lip pencil, the number 700 which is a lovely brown nude colour. The formula is creamy and blendable. These lip liners are only 2 euros and they're quite good!

My Perfect Mac Quad

Sunday, 16 August 2015

This is my perfect Mac quad. Four neutral  and wearable shades that are perfect for day and night:

Left to right: Naked Lunch, All that glitters, Woodwinked and Antiqued

ALL THAT GLITTERS.  It's a very wearable colour, a champagne/rose gold shade, that looks beautiful on everyone. It's a very soft and creamy texture. It's pigmented and easy to blend and it has the prettiest metallic finish. It's quite similar to Naked Lunch but All that glitters is warmer and less pink.

NAKED LUNCH. One of my favourites eye shadows ever! This is a warm champagne peachy pink with a frost finish. It's a very versatile eyeshadow. I use it as a wash of colour or put it in the inner half of the lid. I wish this was more pigmented though.

WOODWINKED. It's a really shimmery warm gold-bronze. It does have an orange/red undertone once applied so I would say this looks better on darker complexions. The texture is so soft and buttery. Also the pigmentation and colour payoff are really good.

ANTIQUED. It's a warm coppery brown shade perfect for day and night. It's very smooth and pigmented and blends like a dream. It's such a beautiful shade to wear it alone over the lid, you don't need anything else.

L'Oreal Infallible Matte Foundation

Everything about this foundation is amazing. Lightweight, doesn't cake, long lasting and doesn't accentuate dry patches. I do also love the finish, it's semi-matte, it leaves a healthy glow to the skin.

I like to use this on days when I want a little bit more coverage. The formula is incredible lightweight while still providing great coverage. It's very comfortable to wear and stays great the whole day. It's an amazing foundation for summer, heat and humidity. It's sweat-proof and it won't melt off your face.

I'm so impressed! L'Oreal, great job!

French Pharmacy: The Essentials

Tuesday, 11 August 2015
I'm such a big fan of french pharmacy brands. You can find amazing high-quality beauty products at affordable prices.

Today I'm sharing with you my French pharmacy's staples. Eight genius beauty products that you need to try from the French Pharmacy.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse
The most gorgeous smelling oil I ever used! The scent is heaven. The product is excellent as well. No greasy, no heavy sensation. It absorbs quickly and keeps the skin moisturised.

La Roche Posay Anthelios SPF50 Dry Touch Cream
The best sunscreen ever!  It's not sticky or greasy at all and is great for wearing under make up.  It makes a great primer for foundation. It leaves the skin shine free and without white marks.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo Anti-Blemish
Fantastic product which help you to control the oil, dry out all those ugly blemishes and help to eliminate acne marks. I only apply this on my blemish prone areas but you can use it all over the face. It's light weight, non greasy and non sticky.

Caudalie Lip Conditioner
A must-have staple in your bag. It moisturizes, isn't too heavy, smells good and makes your lips super soft. This is an instant relief if your lips are chapped.

Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre
A cult product loved by makeup artists, models and the beauty indutry in general. This multi-purpose cream can be used as a cleanser, moisturiser, soothing balm and is a great makeup primer.

La Roche Posay Serozinc*
Fabulous product that help to control the oily areas and the annoying spots. It sprays on effortlessly, soaks into the skin quickly and doesn't feel sticky. I apply this every night as a toner and really helps to calm everything down. It prevents breakouts and controls the oily parts on my skin.

Bioderma Sensibio H2O Solution Micellaire
This is the Queen of micellar waters. Even if you can find great options at the drugstore (The Garnier Micellar Water or the Nivea 3-in-1 Sensitive Micellar Cleanser Water) Bioderma Solution Micellaire is worth a try. It cleanses and remove makeup well without drying and doesn't cause any irritation.

Avene Eau Thermale
This a fantastic and multipurpose water mist. I use this as a toner after cleansing, after shaving and to calm sensitive and irritated skin. The travel size is perfect for keeping up in your bag and freshen up specially during summer .

L'Oreal Color Riche nail polish in the shade Gourmandise

I couldn't resist buying this nail polish. It's part of L'Oreal "Les Blancs" collection and it's called Gourmandise. The colour is gorgeous! A beautiful white-based pastel lavender.

The polish has a nice thick consistency and provide a good coverage, even only with one coat. It's really opaque, I only applied one coat in the photos.
I do also love the wide brush that makes application super easy and mess-free.  It gives a lovely and shiny finish with simple one stroke.

What do your think about this colour? Are you a fan of pastel nails?

Mac Blushes

Monday, 3 August 2015

MAC has some of the best blushes out there. The range of colours and finishes is amazing.

I like my mini collection of Mac blushes, they're all very different and special. But I really would like to pick up some new shades.

Here's my little collection:

Mac Powder blush: Well Dressed
I used to wear this all the time. It's probably one of my favourite blushes ever! It leaves a really nice pink flush on the cheeks with a bit of shimmer. It brightens up the face and gives a nice healthy glow.

Mac Cremeblend blush: Lady Blush
This is the only cream blush in my collection. It's a soft coral-pink but with some peachiness in it. It's very pigmented but easy to blend and looks natural on the cheeks.

MAC Mineralize blush: Warm Soul
It's a peachy brown shade with some mauve in it and golden sheen. It enhances the cheekbones, gives warmth and a lovely subtle glow to the complexion. This is one of those blushes that looks beautiful on most skin tones.

Mac Powder blush: Fever
I really like this one for the winter months. MAC Fever is a matte red wine colour. This is really pigmented and looks super intimidating in the pan, but if applied lightly it is just gorgeous. It gives this beautiful 'just got out from snow' look.
