light bases for summer, best foundations for summer

light bases for summer, best foundations for summer

When the weather gets warmer I like to switch up my base products to lighter products. I love using foundations that feel light on my skin. I'm a big fan of the BB/CC creams, they adress skin tone, helps to correct redness, uneven skin and pigmentation and it also contains a very high SPF to protect your skin from sun damage which is perfect for summer.
These are my favourite lightweight bases for summer. All of these are lightweight, breathable and give a beautiful, radiant finish.

I really like this one and it's my favourite of the collection, in my opinion it's better than Chanel CC Cream! It has pretty good coverage for a CC Cream. It’s moisturising and gives you a healthy glowy finish. The finish is rather dewy but natural, without looking greasy. It does not feel heavy on the skin and it lasts pretty well on the skin although if you have very oily skin this may not work for you as it can get too oily a couple of hours after applying. This is probably best for those with dry to normal skin.
CHANEL CC CREAM  SPF30/50 | link
It provides a good coverage and a nice, luminous finish to the skin. It's a very good product but is not my favourite since this has a very yellow undertone, which sadly does not work well with my skin tone. Also I find it never sits on my skin right and makes me feel a bit oily.
It's another of my favourites and I use this one all year round. This feels light and gives a good glow to the skin. It stays on pretty well, it doesn't fade throughout the day.
It's very light coverage but will even out your skin tone and add a healthy glow. It feels fresh, breathable and the finish is luminous and dewy. I think it's a great option if you have dry skin since this is super hydrating on the skin.
I love using this for days where I don't want to wear full makeup. It's lightweight, glides on smooth providing light coverage that evens out the skin tone. It gives such a fresh look to your skin. It can be used as a highlighter under foundation for that soft sheen, glow that looks like it comes from within.

Have you tried nay of these?

8 products | In my makeup bag

Thursday, 16 June 2016
I've been trying to keep thing simple in my bag lately. Summer beauty is all about effortless and fresh easy looks. These are the products I'm keeping in my makeup bag at the moment.

1 | Clinique CC Cream Hydrating Colour Corrector
My new favourite light base! It does a great job correcting the redness of my face. It's moisturising, it has a pretty good coverage, but it does not feel heavy on the skin. The finish is rather dewy but natural, without looking greasy, although this is probably best for those with dry to normal skin.
2 | Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer
It has a super creamy consistency, is very pigmented and covers dark circles perfectly. It goes smooth and brightens under eye so well!
3 | YSL Healthy Glow Balm-Powder Bronzer
I'm not a big fan of cream bronzers but there was something about this that caught my attention and I have to say I love this product! It's the most natural bronzer I have ever tried. I was a bit skeptical at the beginning because all the colours seemed to be very warm with orange-reddy undertones, but the shade 3 Epice seems the most neutral of the range and the safest choice. The texture balm-powder of this is amazing, blends beautifully and seamlessly then dries to a natural matte finish but still gives a subtle radiant glow to the face
4 | Clinique ' Robust Rhubarb' Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm
This creamy blush in stick gives a lovely flush of colour on the cheeks.. It applies and blends easily with fingers. I love this shade, Robust Rhubarb, is such a pretty coral colour.

5 | Nars 'Goddess' Velvet Shadow Stick
It's a pinky-peach chamagne colour, exactly the kind of colour I love wearing on a day to day basis. It's creamy. pigmented, it goes on smoothly  and stays on well  I love how quick it is to apply. It takes about 10 seconds to do my eyeshadow wit this.
6 | MAC 'Powersurge' EyeKhol
It's such a pretty gold shade. It's a lovely warm, shimmery antique gold colour that looks so beautiful on the eyes.
7 | Rimmel Volume Colourist Mascara
I've been using this new mascara from Rimmel for the past weeks which supposed to tint your lashes over time. It's not a bad mascara at all. It makes them appear longer and thicker without clumping. It's true it makes your lashes super black when you apply but other than that, I have not experienced any difference in my lashes :(
| Lancome 'Freedom of Peach' Juicy Shaker
It's very moisturising and lovely to wear and this shade gives a beautiful subtle peachy-pink colour to the lips.  I'm totally addicted to it! The design is so cute and is such a lovely lip product to keep in your handbag and reapply throughout the day.

Favourite Low-cost Lipsticks | Try-on swatches

Sunday, 12 June 2016

These are seven lipsticks that I absolutely love having in my makeup collection. You can really find high quality lipstick at the drugstore. All of these have amazing formulas, they're pigmented and lovely to wear.
Let me know which are you favourite drugstore lipsticks.

In no specific order, here are my top seven lipsticks from the drugstore or low-cost.

This isn't a colour I usually go for but there's something about it that I love. I love wearing it in Spring/Summer.  It's a blue based pink, is super bright and it's completely matte but it's super confortable to wear and doesn't dry out my lips.
The formula of this is so creamy, smooth and opaque, they stay on for ages and they don't dry out your lips at all. The shade 'Stockholm' is a warm nude with peachy undertones. This is really pigmented and it has a silky matte finish.
This lipstick is so gorgeous! It's the perfect darker nude colour, a lovely dusky pink and it's matte. The formula is creamy and pigmented and glides on like a balm.
The whole shade range is amazing.but I love this particular shade which is a natural pinky colour. It applies really easy on the lips. The only downside, it contains big glitter particles that are quite difficult to remove after, take a while to come off.
It's lovely natural pink with brown undertones. This is something between a lipstick, lip gloss and lip balm, but it really feels amazing on the lips. It has a creamy texture, it's hydrating and leaves a glossy finish on the lips with fades nicely over time.
I like the consistency of these lip butters, they are somewhere in between a lipbalm and a lipstick, and also they do stain the lips a little bit. They leave a lovely glossy look to the lips are very easy to appy, no effort needed. This colour is a medium raspberry pink, very pigmented.
This has to be one of my favourite lipsticks in my collection and one that I would repurchase over and over again. This is a lovely mauve pink-brown lip cream, very flattering and so easy to wear. It has have a silky texture and is super opaque with only one coat. The Sephora liquid lipsticks are seriously amazing, they're highly pigmented, long lasting and non-drying.

Drugstore Must-Have | Sleek 'Solstice' Palette

Thursday, 2 June 2016

How beautiful is this? The palette is stunning, so pigmented, beautiful shine, gorgeous gold packaging, it looks high-end and expensive. The new must-have palette!

This is a multitasking and versatile palette that can be used for eyes and as a highlighter and is meant for all skin tones and also can be used on the body. It has a combination of different textures, all super pigmented and smooth. It contains one cream highlighter and three powder. All four shades are beautiful and have great colour pigmentation and really nice shimmery effect. It gives quite a strong highlight and a little certainly goes a long way. It can look overly frosty though and ultra-shimmery, so be careful when you apply this!

All the shades work well as eye-shadows, the texture has a luxurious feel silky and they’re so smooth.  The creamy shade called Ecliptic is a beautiful pinky beige colour and my personal favourite, it looks so beautiful all over the lid and works as eyeshadow base too. Hemisphere is a frosty lilac; Subsolar, is a pastel yellow-gold and Equinox is a peachy super shimmery gold and it’s the one I have on my cheeks in the picture above.

Absolutely brilliant palette for such a low price! Plus the packaging is so beautiful, compact and travel friendly. It comes with a little brush and a nice sized mirror but you can use your fingers to apply this.

If you love highlighters you should definitely pick one up! It looks and feels so luxurious and it's super affordable. Great palette and all the shades are perfect for Summer. I have had so many compliments while wearing it and have recommended this to all my friends.

Have you tried this palette yet? Tell me your thoughts about it!

This month I've been loving...of course more highlighting products, a new lip product, the perfect everyday eyeshadow and a new favourite nail polish.

I'm so impressed with this!  I'm really enjoying using this product at the moment, this stuff makes your skin glow.  It's so versatile, I personally like to use it under my foundation and it gives the most gorgeous dewy glow yet it does not make the face look like a disco ball.  It also provides hydration and it lasts all day long. You can also mix a few drops with your foundation or apply it after on the cheekbones.  I've been using this for the daytime and it definitely brightens up dull and tired skin beautifully. I love the fact that Mac has a travel size bottle to try this out!

These are amazing! The formula is creamy, smooth and opaque, they stay on for ages and they don't dry out your lips at all. The shade 'Stockholm' is a warm nude with peachy undertones. Beautiful colour and wearable. This is really pigmented and it has a genuine matte finish, gives off a silky matte finish.
You may think this is more an autumn/winter colour but actually I think this looks so beautiful now with all the spring/summer outfits. I'm really enjoying using this at the moment. It's a gorgeous mauve rosy colour that suits fair skin so well. Lovely formula and application, it's so creamy and pigmented. I really love this shade for this time of the year, Definitely a lovely neutral nail colour for all year round. (I was wearing this on this post
This is made with natural and lovely ingredients like coconut oil which is something amazing.  It gives a subtle but beautiful highlight on the cheekbones, a lovely glow that it looks like coming from within. The skin looks so beautiful and healthy after this. Such a beautiful product, it's pricey but totally worth the money. (I'm planning on doing a full post on this product soon)
Love this shadow stick. It's a pinky-peach champagne colour, exactly the kind of colour I love wearing on a day to day basis.  I love how quick and easy it is to apply. It takes about 10 seconds to do my eyeshadow wit this. It's creamy. pigmented, it goes on smoothly and stays on well.
